DOHA : World Aquatics (WA) are standing by their strict criteria for Russian and Belarusian swimmers to return to international competition - even if it means some of the world's best from the two countries boycott the Paris Olympics.

They are also subject to stringent anti-doping requirements and a ban on talking to media during competition. "I don't think it's too restrictive. I think it's a policy that reflects the voice of our community, and whether or not they want to do it is up to them." The International Olympic Committee in December endorsed Russian and Belarusian athletes competing as neutrals at Paris.
