One vadai shop owner is taking up two instead of four booths at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar due to difficulties in making a profit. The owner plans to improve staffing to reduce waiting times for customers.

Some stall operators at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar in Singapore are choosing not to rely solely on sales this year due to challenges in covering operational costs. One vadai shop owner, Stephen Suriyah, has rented two booths instead of four, paying S$15,000 per booth, which is S$3,000 less than last year.

However, the low price of his items means he needs to sell a large quantity to make a profit. Suriyah plans to improve staffing to reduce waiting times for customers.
