SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority will launch a one-year pilot for priority cabins on the North East Line trains at the end of this year.

The initiative was announced by Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of State for Transport, during his ministry’s Committee of Supply debate in Parliament on Thursday . The priority cabins will feature prominent visual cues and signage that encourage commuters to allow vulnerable commuters to board and alight first, give up their seats to those who need them more and keep the wheelchair spaces free.
