Singapore Coach Services, which owns the bus, said it is assisting the police with investigation.

An eyewitness told Chinese-language outlet Shin Min Daily News that the driver returned to the bus after the crash and drove away.

According to Chinese-language outlet Shin Min Daily News, the driver stopped the bus at the drop-off point of the Heartbeat@Bedok community centre and got off. The 50-year-old said that he then saw the bus begin to move forward and crash into the central divider of Bedok North Street 1.
