A cyclist has been jailed for five months for punching a passerby in the face and head after he filmed him assaulting one other pedestrian.

The cyclist rang his bicycle bell and when the passerby did not give heed, he narrowly squeezed through on his bicycle. This was when the passerby shouted at Sivakarthik and the two men got into an argument, hurling vulgarities and accusations at each other for thoughtless behaviour. Angered, Sivakarthik punched the sufferer on the face, causing him to fall. He continued to rain punches on the 56-year-old man’s face fracturing his eye socket and causing his eyes to bleed. The cyclist only stopped the assault when he noticed that the person’s face was bleeding. The man had to cover his head with his hands to defend himself from Sivakarthik’s blows, and didn’t retaliate at being assaulted.
