SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for smaller cars and motorcycles fell in the latest bidding exercise on Thursday (May 23).

For Category A cars, or those 1,600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums closed at S$92,700 , downCOEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, increased the most - by S$2,000 - from S$70,001 to S$72,001.Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, inched up slightly to S$105,002, from S$104,689.The quota for Category A will go up by 3 per cent, while COEs in Category B will go up by 1.

The largest increase of 12.9 per cent is in the Open Category, which is typically used to register larger cars. For Category C, the COE supply will increase by 5.3 per cent, while the quota for motorcycles in Category D will remain unchanged.
