District. Police said that several passengers were trapped in the derailed coaches and rescuers were facing difficulties in rescuing the trapped passengers due to darkness.
Officials of the Pakistan Railways said that rail traffic on both sides of the track was suspended after the accident. They said that a rescue train had been dispatched to the scene of the accident to take part in the rescue and relief operation.
