Suo motu power to be used only over matter of national importance: CJP Khosa

Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the new judicial year on Wednesday, he said that suo motu taken on the demand of someone is not valid.

Asif Saeed Khosa said that distrust emerges by suppressing the voice or opinion of someone, which is dangerous for democratic system. He said that the President’s complaint against a judge cannot affect the opinion of the Supreme Judicial Council.
