The court has summoned arguments from all parties to decide on the matter whether to indict or not indict.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that it was an open inquiry."It is our accountability. The impression has been given that all judges of the High Court are compromised," he observed. He remarked that apparently Rana Shamim had given a big statement without any evidence."We have received the sealed envelope. We can open immediately if Rana Shamim wants so," he added.
The chief justice questioned the counsel for Rana Shamim whether his client accepts his statement is as per the affidavit. "The court is hearing several cases pertaining to the basic rights. The proofs of the public opinion being made about the court should be presented. If there is no nothing, the public trust in court should not be lost. When the freedom of expression is in clash with the public interest, the situation becomes different," he remarked.
