The Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting held a meeting to discuss the operations of PTV and Radio Pakistan. The Caretaker Information Minister informed the Committee about PTV's programs on social media and the issue of commercial charges for Radio Pakistan's electricity bills. The Information Secretary provided details about PTV's employees and the conversion of pension into a contributory fund. The Committee also discussed the loss of PTV due to losing the rights of PSL to a private channel.

The meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting was held in the parliament house under the Chairmanship of convener Fauzia Arshad. In the meeting, the Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi told the Committee that Pakistan Television is also uploading its quality programs on social media .Regarding Radio Pakistan , Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said that it is not a commercial organization.

Therefore, commercial charges should not be collected from Radio Pakistan in terms of electricity bills. Information Secretary Shahira Shahid, while briefing the Committee, said that 4,100 employees are working in PTV. The major liability of the institution was pension, which has been converted into a contributory fund by which PTV programs and other expenses are met. In the matter of acquiring the rights of PSL to a private channel, the Information Secretary said that PTV is losing billions of rupees due to losing PSL right
