The Pakistan Stock Exchange closed a rocky session flat on Thursday. Indices oscillated in both directions while volumes appreciated from last close.It then lost momentum plunging to day’s low of 45,703.53, losing 104.04 points.
It managed to minimize losses by closing lower at 45,757.24. The KMI 30 Index gained 150.77 points ending at 76,508.49. While the KSE all share index was up by 39.23 points ending at 30,509.25. Overall market volumes recorded an increase from 138.58 million shares in the previous session to 176.74 million shares.

Attack On Army Checkposts In Chitral: 12 Terrorist Killed, 4 Soldiers Martyred As Attack RepulsedFour soldiers were martyred and 12 terrorists killed in an operation to repulse Militants from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral District. The Inter Services Public Relation said in statement that a large group of terrorists equipped with latest weapons attacked two Military posts located close to the Afghanistan Border in Chitral District’s General Area Of Kalash. The valiant soldiers fought bravely and repulsed attacks inflicting heavy casualties to terrorists. Terrorists’ movement and concentration in Gawardesh, Pitigal, Barg-i-Matal and Batash Areas Of Nuristan and Kunar Provinces of Afghanistan had already been picked up and were timely shared with interim afghan government. During the fire exchange, 12 terrorists were sent to hell, while a large number of the militants were critically injured. According to ISPR, the area was being sanitised to eliminate any other terrorists found in the vicinity. The ISPR said security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve. The brave people of Chitral also stand firmly with the security forces in not allowing the terrorists to ruin the peace of the area. The press release added that the interim Afghan government was expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.
