Addressing the launching ceremony of Ehsaas Amdan Programme on Friday, he said cattle would be provided to women to run their houses. “50,000 scholarships will be given to the people each year. The poor families will be provided free treatment,” he added.
Imran Khan said that the government wants to empower downtrodden and financially poor segment of society. He said that the government had already established 180 shelter homes across the country, while work on creating further shelter homes is under way. “The government will provide free legal assistance to the under-privileged segment of society so that dispensation of justice can be ensured. Moreover, the government will provide 6 million health cards to people across Punjab out of which 5 million has already been issued.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to PM on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar said that Ehsaas Amdan Programme is being launched in 375 union councils of 23 poorest districts of all the four provinces of the country.
