Police must produce Sheikh Rashid in 7 days, LHC orders

RAWALPINDI – The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench directed police to produce former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in a week.

Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan of the LHC heard the petition filed against the imprisonment of Ahmed. The regional police officer Rawalpindi Syed Khurram Ali appeared before the court. The judge asked the RPO that where are former minister and two other persons those were with him? Will you produce Ahmed or submit written reply before the court, the judge asked the RPO? However, the RPO sought 15 more days. Following the RPO’s request, the court said that 15 days are too much as it’s not a common case, even two days are too much.

The Justice Sadaqat Ali said following the request of the lawyer, Sardar Abdul Razzaq, I am giving another 7 days. The court said that if Ahmed would not produce within a week, the court will order an FIR.
