Said the bio for the work, “Writing from a young woman’s perspective, Pakistani poet Parveen Shakir had an exceptionally decorated career. Her distinguished contributions to Urdu poetry earned her one of the highest civil awards in Pakistan.”. She later received the Pride of Performance award for her outstanding contribution to literature.
