Pakistan thrashed Afghanistan by 142 runs in the first one day international to take 1-0 lead in three match series in Hambantota. PTV Sports HD telecast the match LIVE. Earlier, Pakistan Captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first. Mujeeb ur Rahman led a strong afghan spin trio as batting first Pakistan were bowled out for 201 runs in 47.1 overs. Pakistan lost opener Fakhar Zaman off the fourth ball of the match for two before Mujeeb ur Rahman dismissed Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in his first spell. Rashid Khan than got the wicket off Agha Salman as Pakistan were struggling at 62 for four. Imam ul Haq steadied the innings with a fifth wicket stand of 50 with Iftikhar Ahmed and another 40 with Shadab Khan before Nabi dismissed Haq and Ahmed in quick succession. Imam ul Haq completed his 17th half century with the help of two fours. Iftikhar Ahmed made 30 runs while Usama Mir and Shaheen Shah Afridi added two, two runs each. Shadab Khan then added an invaluable 35-run stand with Naseem Shah for the ninth wicket before the latter was run out. Shadab made 39 runs with the help of three fours while Naseem Shah made unbeaten 18 runs. For Afghanistan, Mujeeb ur Rahman bagged three while Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan took two wickets each. In reply Pakistan pace attack destroyed Afghanistan batting as they were bundled out for just 59 runs in 19.2 overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi struck twice in the third over while Naseem Shah got the wicket off Hashmatullah Shahidi. Haris Rauf then joined the party as he bowled brilliantly and bagged five wickets for just 18 runs in 6.2 overs. Only two Afghani batters reached double figures. Rahmanullah Gurbaz made 18 while Azmatullah scored 16 runs. For Pakistan Haris Rauf picked up maiden five wicket haul while Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets. Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan grabbed one wicket each. This is Afghanistan's second lowest ODI total. Haris Rauf declared player of the match. The second match of the series will be
