'Wag kayo matakot': Duterte says no martial law in Philippines amid COVID19 pandemic

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday assured Filipinos that there is no martial law in the Philippines despite the increased presence of police and soldiers as the country fights the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

According to Duterte, the police and military are merely helping the civilian government in implementing the rules during the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the disease. He also said people have nothing to be scared of because there will be no arrest as long as they follow quarantine policies.

"'Yan lang ang trabaho, at makikita ninyo, we are progressing at a very fast rate because we were able to put in place the rules to be followed when COVID came in like a storm from the outside," he added.

And what's your reason for declaring martial law? Sino naman natakot mo

Wala tlgang chance mag Martial Law kasi masyado nang Passive ang mga Pilipino.. unless magkaroon ng staged uprising yun nalang chance niya para ma push ang Martial Law niya

Protect Public Health? HOW? Your own man NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas is the number one quarantine violator. Partying without masks flooded with banned alcohol not minding social distancing. Yeah Right! 🤡🤡🤡

The word 'iginiit' made it sound like he was lying or he was struggling on lying. Wag na kayo mag taka kung bakit gusto niyang mashutdown ang network niyo. I know you know what you're doing pero sana wag madamay yung 11k na nagtratrabaho sainyo dahil sa paglaban niyo sa pangulo.

I believe this. Duque and Briones easily contradicted his statements. If he cannot control his cabinet, then he cannot be expected to go full dictator.

and allow classes while there is a pandemic going on, mental health matters👌
