Robredo, who co-chairs the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs , met with officials of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, the Department of State and US Agency for International Development.
US Embassy Press Attache and Spokesperson Heather Fabrikant said the meeting was made upon the request of the Vice President and took place at the latter’s office in Quezon City. In a message sent to reporters, Fabrikant said there were “no commitments made” during the discussion of potential US-funded programs to aid the Philippine government in its drug-war efforts.
Robredo has been meeting with various groups, from anti-illegal drugs advocates in the Philippines to international organizations, to discuss possible partnerships in the drug war.
