DIGOS CITY -Mayroon nang kumpirmadong kaso ng coronavirus disease 2019 sa Digos City, Davao del Sur.
Ito'y matapos matanggap ng lokal na pamahalaan nitong Lunes ang resulta ng confirmatory test ng pasyente mula sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine at napatunayang positibo siya sa COVID-19.Ayon kay Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas, walang travel history ang pasyente pero kabilang siya sa mga sumali sa derby sa Matina Gallera noong March 12 at 13 na posibleng pinanggalingan ng kaniyang sakit.
Gumawa na ng contact tracing ang lokal na pamahalaan at sinisigurong naka-isolate na ang mga nakasalamuha ng pasyente. Paalala naman ni Cagas sa mga taga-Digos City na huwag mag-panic at sundin ang patakaran na ipinapatupad sa lungsod kaugnay ng community quarantine. Nasa maayos naman na kondisyon ngayon ang pasyente na kasalukuyang nasa isolation facility ng Southern Philippines Medical Center sa Davao City.
