Two church leaders of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) have pleaded not guilty to charges of human trafficking and immigration fraud filed against them.

Guia Cabactulan and Marissa Duenas made the plea at their arraignment before a United States court on Thursday in Los Angeles, California.

The charges stemmed from a human trafficking violation that led to the arrest of three KJC administrators last month for allegedly bringing in members of the Christian sect for fund-raising activities. KJC’s lead legal counsel Michael Jay Green said both Cabactulan and Duenas entered a not-guilty plea because they are innocent of the charges filed against them by several disgruntled former KJC members.
