MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Storm Ineng strengthened further and slightly accelerated on Thursday evening, August 22, as it continued to enhance theIn a briefing past 11 pm on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Ineng now has maximum winds of 85 kilometers per hour from the previous 75 km/h and gustiness of up to 105 km/h from the previous 90 km/h.

It is poised to become a severe tropical storm within hours. A severe tropical storm has maximum winds of at least 89 km/h. Ineng is already 585 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora. It is now moving west northwest at 15 km/h from the previous 10 km/h.Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands
