A tricycle driver died while his wife and two-year-old child were injured when the tricycle they were riding in crashed along the national highway in Barangay Dariwdiw, Batac City, Ilocos Norte on late Thursday evening, April 27. ManilaBulletin

Police Lt. Col. Adrian Gayuchan, chief of Batac City police, identified the dead victim as Christian Tamamao, 30, a resident of Barangay Payas, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.Investigation disclosed that the victims had just attended a birthday party in Barangay Magnuang, Batac City.

The tricycle driver, who was allegedly under the influence of liquor, lost control of his tricycle which crashed into the concrete pavement at the national highway. He was severely injured on his head, causing him to die instantly. His wife and his child were also injured but were already safe. Gayuchan warned the residents to refrain from driving any vehicle when they are under the influence of liquor.
