“Ursula,” the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported on Wednesday, Christmas Day.NDRRMC Exevutive Director Ricardo Jalad said the affected residents were from nine municipalities and the city of Tacloban in Leyte; four towns and Catbalogan City in Samar; three towns in Eastern Samar; three towns in Southern Leyte; and one town in Northern Samar.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC has yet to validate the reported death of a man who allegedly got electrocuted in Abuyog, Leyte at the height of the typhoon. These were the towns of Basey, Marabut, Sta. Rita, Pinabacdao, and Daram in Samar; San Julian, Borongan and Taft in Eastern Samar; Tacloban City in Leyte; and San Ricardo in Southern Leyte.
“The NDRRM Operations Center raised its alert level to ‘blue’ to closely monitor the development of the weather disturbance,” Jalad said.
