SWS: 44% of Filipinos expect quality of life improving in next 12 months

Forty-four percent of Filipino adults believe that their quality of life will “improve in the next 12 months,” a Social Weather Stations survey showed.

Of the 1,440 respondents, 44 percent said their quality of life will improve, 39 percent said there will be no change, and four percent said it will worsen in the next 12 months. Meanwhile, 13 percent did not give any answer. The survey was conducted from April 19 to 27 using face-to-face interviews, said SWS. All respondents were adults aged 18 years-old and above and were from Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.“The April 2022 Net Personal Optimism score is three points below the excellent +42 in December 2021 and five points below the pre-pandemic level of excellent +44 in December 2019,” the SWS noted.

“The three-point decline in the national Net Personal Optimism score from December 2021 to April 2022 was due to the decreases in Mindanao and Metro Manila, combined with an increase in the Visayas and a steady score in Balance Luzon,” it added. The survey had sampling error margins of ±2.6 percent for national percentages and ±5.2 percent for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, the SWS said.
