Hataman reiterated his call for a comprehensive evaluation of the work so far accomplished by transition officials, saying that this is a vital aspect of any discussion for the grant of three year extension of the transition period for the BARMM.
BARMM officials have earlier asked the Commission on Audit to conduct a special audit of infrastructure projects of the defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao that Hataman headed as governor before the BARMM was created. The former regional governor stressed that his call for a review of the work accomplishment of the BTA should not be misconstrued as his rejection of the calls for extension.
Bills proposing the extension of the interim period for the BARMM and the deferment of the regional election scheduled in 2022 are currently being discussed by three congressional panels.
