Kusug Tausug partylist Rep. Shernee Tan-Tambut also warned that the BTA’s call for postponement of the scheduled election in 2022 is a “first step” for its officials to “perpetuate themselves in power.”
“It would be arrogant to say that only the MILF can function and perform the unfinished tasks. You were given ample time to do everything that you needed to do…. and yet, you did not perform. So that’s your fault,” stated Tan-Tambut during the hearing. Tan-Tambut said she cannot accept the “pandemic” as an excuse for the poor performance of the BTA. During the joint congressional proceedings, BTA Chief Minister Al Hajj Ebrahim Murad explained that the request for postponement was due to their “analysis and the experiences and challenges we had”
