Paeng is the Philippines’ 16th tropical cyclone for 2022 and the fourth for October. PAGASA earlier said there may be up to four tropical cyclones during the month. There may be a fifth tropical cyclone in October, however, as the low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility just developed into a tropical depression.
The tropical depression was located 1,485 kilometers east of Mindanao before dawn on Saturday, moving west at 35 km/h.PAGASA Weather Specialist Benison Estareja said the tropical depression may enter PAR on Monday, October 31. If it does, it would be given the local name Queenie.
