Deputy Speaker Johnny Pimentel, together with Reps. Mayo Almario and Salvador “Doy” Leachon , urged their colleagues to put an end to talks about granting Cayetano the full three-year term as speaker.
“At this point, it would be useless to speculate. Instead, we should devote our time to pass the priority bills of the president,” the House official said. Leachon agreed that he and other House members are proud of Cayetano’s high trust rating “as it also reflects, apart from his commendable management, the society’s collective and individual perception among us congressmen.”
He added: “At the end of the day, let’s just wait for the green light of the President, for, after all, the term sharing emanated from him.”“What’s important is to foster an efficient working relationship within the House and Senate, as well as with the executive branch.”
