Senior citizens commission chairman urged to resign

FIVE deputies of the National Commission of Senior Citizens are calling on Chairman Franklin Quijano to resign amid corruption allegations.NCSC Commission ers Rainier Cruz, Enriqueta Rodeles, Mary Jean Loreche, Edwin Espejo, and Reymar Mansilungan accused Quijano of grave abuse of authority, gross misconduct, negligence of duty, ignorance of the law, and conduct inimical to the interest of the public.

Last March 14, the Department of Social Welfare and Development officially handed over the implementation of the Assistance to Older Persons program to the NCSC.In an interview with The Manila Times, Loreche said she wants to assure that senior citizens can trust the remaining commissioners.'They know how I work, even during the pandemic. My cluster is Region 6 and 7 , where we launched our programs to show them our sincerity and love for them.
