MANILA—One of the staff members of the Mayor’s Office of San Juan city has died because of COVID-19, Mayor Francis Zamora confirmed on Facebook Friday.
“Paalam sa aking masipag, mabait, mapapagkatiwalaan at maasahan na Mayor's Office staff na si Ricky Rodero na pumanaw dahil sa COVID-19,” Zamora wrote. Zamora did not give further details. The announcement came almost two weeks since Zamora said he was undergoing self-quarantine after interacting with a member of his staff who tested positive for COVID-19.San Juan is among the cities in Metro Manila with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
As of April 10, 6 p.m., the city had a total of 152 COVID-19 cases, 255 patients under investigation and 531 persons under monitoring.
