Vice President Leni Robredo is placed in an awkward situation in the country’s anti-illegal drugs campaign because a high-ranking official apparently is uncomfortable with her.

Senator Panfilo M. Lacson

The other co-chairman of ICAD is Director Aaron Aquino, a former Philippine National Police official, who had sat on the proposed dismissal of the ‘’13 Ninja Cops’’ linked to the more than P600 million faked ‘’shabu’’ raid in Mexico, Pampanga in 2013. The 13 were under then Pampanga PNP chief Oscar Albayalde, later to become PNP chief. Instead, the 13 were assigned to Mindanao.

He said that based on media accounts projecting all these differences, the current government war against drugs is not coherent.Lacson, a former Philippine National Police chief, thinks Robredo is ‘’saying all the right things and doing all the right things because the first thing she did was meet with members of the ICAD and there are 20 agencies.’’

Lacson said Robredo needs all the information ICAD has because she’s involved in policy making, policy formulation, ‘’so she’ll need all the basic information to formulate policies and to give direction.’’
