The local government of Quezon City has now exempted delinquent real property tax owners from paying interests accumulated from unpaid previous taxes.

This came after the city council passed Ordinance No. SP-2979, which grants tax amnesty on all outstanding real property tax liabilities and delinquencies on land, building or improvements, and machineries, as assessed by the City Assessor’s Office.

“We will continue to provide compassionate support for all our residents and businesses who are still feeling the effects of COVID-19 on our economy,” she said. Meanwhile, real property owners who will be able to pay their tax for year 2021 on or before March 31, 2021 can avail of the 20 percent discount.
