Forty new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 32 new recoveries were recorded among Filipinos in the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday.

As of Jan. 15, 13,540 Filipinos overseas have contracted COVID-19 — 8,617 have fully recovered, 3,988 are still undergoing treatment, while 935 died.

Eleven months into the pandemic, Filipinos with COVID-19 were recorded in 84 countries and territories. Through its foreign service personnel worldwide, the DFA said it remains steadfast in partnering with local health authorities and agencies to ensure Filipinos’ awareness of and adherence to preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic and commit to attending to the needs of Filipinos abroad, whenever possible.
