Port of Clark turns over seized gambling paraphernalia to Pagcor

Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark turned over various poker chips and other gambling paraphernalia which were either forfeited or abandoned to Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation , officials said Friday.

These shipments include seven packages of mahjong sets, two packages of poker chips; and a small package of gambling paraphernalia which were all covered by warrants of seizure and detention and abandonment proceedings . They were all seized and forfeited for violation of Section 119 of the R.A. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act .

In a statement, District Collector Ruby Alameda said the Port of Clark will remain steadfast in enforcing customs laws and regulations and in apprehending shipments that violate the CMTA. She likewise said coordination with other regulating agencies will be strengthened to barricade the borders against prohibited and restricted shipments without permit.
