General Oscar Albayalde, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has admitted that the PNP-CIDG indeed sought the help of the Office of the Solicitor General in the preparation of the sedition case against Vice President Leni Robredo and bishops critical of President Duterte.

In doing so, Albayalde said that he sees nothing wrong with it since the PNP lacks lawyers in the preparation of the charge sheet based on the testimony of Peter Joemel Advincula, the self-confessed hooded-man ‘Bikoy’ in the viral ‘Ang Totoong Narcolist’ video series.

“Remember, the OSG is our lawyer so maybe there is no irregularity that we go to the OSG to seek legal opinion and legal advice for that matter” he added. The case was mainly based on the testimony of Advincula who claimed that the video series alleging that some members of the Duterte family and Senator Bong Go are involved in the illegal drugs trade in the country were orchestrated by the Opposition.Advincula’s retraction came after he surrendered to the PNP.
