Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Franciso Gamboa denied on Monday that he was protecting the 356 policemen who were included in President Duterte's drug watchlist when they were given the option to retire early.

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Archie Franciso Gamboa denied on Monday that he was protecting the 356 policemen who were included in President Duterte’s drug watchlist when they were given the option to retire early.Gamboa said the fact that they are adjudicating the cases of the policemen is clear proof that they are not tolerating their misdeeds and are showing them a way out to purge the PNP of narco-cops.

While the original list was at 357, one of the policemen was gunned down two to three days before the PNP leadership got hold of the list, according to Gamboa. But Gamboa said the suspected narco-cops also served the country and spent years in the service and are entitled to leaves.
