Pinoys aboard coronavirus-hit ship in Japan to return home Tuesday: Locsin

MANILA - The repatriation of hundreds of Filipinos aboard the coronavirus-stricken cruise ship Diamond Princess in Japan is set on Tuesday, Feb. 25, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. said Sunday.

Japan on Saturday apologized after 23 passengers were allowed to leave without being properly tested. The health department said Thursday some 460 to 480 Filipinos aboard the cruise ship have requested assistance to return to the Philippines. She is the first person to have tested positive for the virus among the group of approximately 970 passengers who disembarked earlier this week.
