PHILIPPINES -- Problemado ngayon si Joevilyn Linga, 35 anyos mula sa Pangasinan. Apat na taon na siyang domestic helper sa Hong Kong at umuwi lamang nitong Abril para sa isang buwang bakasyon. Ngunit naapektuhan siya ng lockdown bunsod ng COVID-19 measures sa Pilipinas kaya’t hindi pa siya nakababalik sa kanyang employer sa siyudad.

Maging ang Konsulado ng Pilipinas sa Hong Kong ay nagpalabas ng abiso patungkol sa pagpasok ng Filipino Household Service Workers o HSWs sa Hong Kong nitong ika-26 ng Agosto, 2021. Sa ngayon, naghahanap pa ng paraan si Jovielyn kung paano siya makapagpapaturok ng ikalawang dose ng COVID-19 vaccine bilang rekisito sa pagkuha ng “Yellow Card.” Ang mas malaking problema niya, matatapos na ngayong Setyembre ang kanyang work contract sa Hong Kong. Kaya’t gustuhin man umano ng kanyang employer na i-renew ang kanyang kontrata, mapipilitan na itong kumuha ng ibang domestic helper para sa anak nito.
