“Koko” Pimentel III on Saturday said he is is mulling calling for a legislative inquiry into the Philippines’ Visiting Forces Agreement with the United States to determine whether or not it benefits the country.Pimentel, chair of the Senate committee on foreign affairs, said it is high time to review the 21-year-old VFA with the U.S. which President Duterte threatened to terminate due to the cancellation of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s multiple entry U.S. visa.
The U.S., he claimed, treats the VFA as an “executive agreement,” unlike in the Philippines where it went under the scrutiny and was ratified by the Senate.
