The Philippines has called on fellow member-countries of the Association Southeast Asian to be “one” and to “remain committed” in promoting and protecting the welfare and interest of families in the region amid the COVID-pandemic crisis.
“Ultimately, it is hoped that, as One ASEAN, we express our resolute stance in promoting and protecting our families in the region amidst the crisis and in other future shocks,” she said in her opening remarks, as the DSWD recently hosted 15th ASEAN GO-NGO Forum on Social Welfare and Development.
“This gathering resembles the true picture of a family, built in the value of cohesiveness, cooperation, perseverance, and dedication. Let us brave through this together and remain committed in protecting our families in times of crisis,”Niwane said.
