Despite being freed from their agrarian debt, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. assured Filipino farmers that the government would continue supporting them as he highlighted the importance of the country's agriculture sector. ManilaBulletin

Marcos said nothing would change with how the government supports Filipino farmers despite the condonation of their debt.

A total of P57.56 billion of unpaid principal debt will be condoned to benefit 610,054 ARBs tilling 1.173 million hectares of land. , or the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, which freed agrarian reform beneficiaries from their agrarian debt burden.
