Malacañang said it will not be able to submit to Congress the proposed P4.3-trillion national budget for 2021 on the day of President Duterte’s State of the Nation Address because it is still being ironed out.

“This year, hindi namin maihahabol yung proposed budget during the State of the Nation Address. August pa namin isa-submit ,” he said. “Gusto naming isagad talaga sa kung ano ang nakalagay sa ating Constitution na pinaka deadline ,” he said. Last month, Budget Secretary described the proposed national budget as “labor-intensive” and that the programs are geared to the priority of the national government which is battling COVID-19.
