The state weather bureau, on Saturday, March 11, said it is actively monitoring a circulation that could potentially develop into a low pressure area (LPA) in the next few days. READ:

In a public weather forecast, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Weather Specialist Patrick Del Mundo said the circulation was spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility , adding that it could affect Mindanao once it develops into an LPA.

“Patuloy ang ating monitoring dito sa circulation na nasa labas ng ating PAR. [Ito ay] maaaring maging LPA pagdating ng Lunes [at] magpapaulan sa bahagi ng Mindanao ,” said Del Mundo. Del Mundo noted the absence of convective clouds in the circulation, explaining that this is one of the reasons why it is not yet declared as an LPA.In the next 24-hour period, most parts of the country will continue to experience a generally fair weather condition.

Residents of Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.” Individuals residing in Mindanao and the rest of Visayas may also expect generally fair weather, but with high chances of rain showers in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.
