Billy’s fifth-year death anniversary. Billy was living in New York when he was diagnosed with cancer. He moved back to the Philippines to continue his treatment and be near his family, and there passed away at the age of 34. Both he and Joanne were a year ahead of me in occupational therapy school. Billy also happened to be my “buddy,” the upper-classman randomly assigned to me, whose duty was to check in on how I was adjusting to college.
