— There are"early indications" that COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila may have peaked, but efforts to maintain the downward trend must continue, a researcher monitoring the country's pandemic trends said Saturday.

But people need to wait"a few more days to make sure" infections have indeed peaked, the OCTA fellow separately told CNN Philippines in an email message. The capital region's COVID-19 reproduction number is down to 1.22, according to David's estimates. The reproduction number was 1.39 in the previous week, David said two days ago.

DOH: NCR may reach 40,000 daily COVID-19 casesThe Philippine health department says Metro Manila's COVID-19 cases could reach over 40,000 daily by the end of the month. Pero mas makakampante ako kung may mag audit sa numbers na nilalabas nila. Yung ibang numbers kasi nila, na au-audit ng Senate.
