THE PHILIPPINE Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration spotted on Monday a new low pressure area off Eastern Samar.The LPA was sighted 25 kilometers northeast of Borongan. However, the weather bureau said that the weather disturbance 'is less likely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours.
'Pagasa said the combined effects of the LPA and the southwest monsoon will bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over MIMAROPA , Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.'Under these conditions, scattered flooding and rain-induced landslides are likely, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards,' it added.
