Nearly 600 doctors, nurses volunteer for COVID-19 fight in PH

MANILA - Nearly 600 Filipino doctors and nurses have volunteered to support the fight against the novel coronavirus , answering the call of the health department for support as the number of cases in the Philippines continues to rise.

She earlier named the Philippine General Hospital in Manila, the Jose M. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Caloocan City, and the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City as referral centers for COVID-19 patients. "Sa bawat dalawang linggong duty, ang healthcare worker ay kailangang sumailalim sa two-week quarantine period pagkatapos," she said.

Why not hire health professionals as contractuals for 3-5 mos.? Above standard pay, pandemic hazard incl. accommodation, meal & uniform allowance. 3k nurses, 1k doctors & 1k allied health professionals, rough estimate, 1-3 Billion pesos, from Duterte's 5-7 Billion intel funds.
