“We received information that a bank was being targeted,” Victor Lorenzo, head of NBI’s cybercrime unit, said in an interview over ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo. Last Friday, Jan. 21, the NBI presented five suspects, including two Nigerians, allegedly behind the “Mark Nagoyo” bank hacking incident wherein Banco de Oro customers lost money through unauthorized bank transfers.

The suspects could have been dealing with other hackers, or even hacking syndicates, to obtain personal information of bank account holders, Lorenzo said.
