For the third time since July, Navotas Mayor Tobias “Toby” Tiangco has sought help from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to help the city government in its crackdown against public utility jeepneys (PUJs) that are cutting their trips.

In his recently released letter dated August 15, Tiangco expressed hopes that the said agency would “act on” reports about PUJs that are cutting their trips following another complaint that the city government received.

The ‘Letre Lang’ signage means that the driver could just drive passengers up to Letre in Malabon City, which is still at least three kilometers away from its original destination in Navotas City.In filing the letter, Tiangco believes that cutting trips are a violation of terms of the LTFRB. On July 16 and 31, Tiangco had also penned letters about complaints that jeepney drivers plying Monumento-Navotas and Divisoria-Navotas were allegedly cutting their trips on C4 Road and in Agora area, respectively. He said, these incidents mostly happen during rainy days or nighttime.
