Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Thursday stressed that the concerted efforts and systematic ploys of various sectors were vital to fight the dreaded dengue disease.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte speaks before the students of the West Fairview Elementary School for the anti-dengue drive in the city.

Rolling out a slew of measures, Belmonte and her team comprised of representatives from the city’s health department, environmental protection, and waste management department, barangay officials, and spraymen started with the conduct of clean-up drive around the elementary school and its nearby health center and barangay hall.

Earlier this week, Belmonte issued a memorandum mandating public schools to encourage students to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
