“We are looking for volunteers for the May 9 elections. The steps on how to volunteer is on our website,” Namfrel Chairman Gus Lagman said in an online forum Sunday, Jan. 23.Lagman said they are looking to recruit at least 50,000 volunteers.“We want to have a volunteer in every polling precinct. If not, each volunteer will have to be assigned for two precincts,” Lagman added.
For the 2022 polls, Namfrel will again monitor the Random Manual Audit, or the manual comparison of votes from the machines and those manually counted inside the polling places included in the audit. On Election Day, Namfrel Bantay ng Bayan observers will monitor the conduct of the elections in different voting centers around the country, focusing on the performance of the vote counting machines, transmission of election results, and other election day activities inside and around the voting centers, among others.
